Hi,
my name is Johan Thuynsma.
Life is an amazing journey.
Sometimes, seemingly insignificant moments on our path turn out to have the greatest impact on our lives.
Sometimes one looses track of the important things in life. Sometimes one needs to close down to the hustle and bustle of everyday modern life. Sometimes one have to close one’s eyes to see properly, turn out all sound to be able to hear properly, sit down and touch the earth to feel your heartbeat.
And sometimes, just maybe, touch a miracle in the soil.
Earthworms have been shaping life on this planet for the past few million years, digging and eating and generally doing what earthworms do best. They have been doing what they do not because they care, but because they are meant to. They have a role in the universe and they are doing it extremely well.
Seemingly insignificant, but without the earthworm, life on this planet would be completely different.
I invite you to take a journey with me and experience what the earthworm do best, turning garbage into new life.
All I ask is that you don’t spend a fortune on some silly plastic invention to keep the worms in. How many ergonomically designed worm-bins do you see in the forests or in the fields? Do you really think the earthworm care?
Rather try and recycle an old container that is bound for the rubbish dump. It may not be pretty, but sit down and decorate it. Be creative. All I ask is that you embark on this journey with the following in mind: “Cleaning the world, one dustbin at a time”
You are welcome to collect a kilogram of earthworms for only R500-00 from my house in Fairland, Johannesburg. It will be my pleasure to spend some time with you to chat about creative ways of keeping earthworms.
Hope to see and meet you soon.
